i hope to make this a somewhat 'living' portfolio-esque site that i can update and iterate upon
i would love to be able to look back on the version history and see improvements (and failures)

ideas for improvement
- properly implement the tamagotchi-esque pet game
- add proper functionality to the shop
- implement a proper callback for the search function
- add different themes

- embed a playlist or perhaps a music player
